Whether you like storms or not, sometimes we know when they are coming and sometimes they pop up "outta nowhere." Paul's experience with Luke & Aristarchus on the Mediterranean Sea has a profound impact on how we respond when our life is turned upside down. When wave after wave crashes in on us, what do we do? God makes is presence evident and we can anchor our souls to His promises. God always reveals His purposes in His time. These are truths we can cling to while navigating the storms.
Guest speaker, Dr. Keith Shubert, concluded our study on Daniel by weaving the truth of the doctrine of the sovereignty of God through the first 6 chapters of Daniel. As he concluded with Daniel and the Lions Den, the challenge was laid before us as to how Christ followers act & react to a corrupt culture, corrupt government, & broken world.
Daniel 4 is the only chapter in the entire Bible dictated by a pagan king. It tells the story of how King Nebuchadnezzar, a man who thought he was like a god, was humiliated to the point of becoming an animal, so that he would realize he was just a man and that God is ultimately in charge of the Universe. In this message, we learn how we can humble ourselves before the eternal, sovereign King of Heaven, and avoid the path of Nebuchadnezzar's humiliation.
